The GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test) is a computer adaptive test used to pursue management education in top B colleges worldwide. As the most popular test in the world for MBA education, the GMAT exam plays a critical role in the admission process, accounting for 30% of the total weightage. The exam is held every day each month, and candidates can book their seats up to six months in advance.

The GMAT exam has a maximum score of 800, with verbal and quantitative reasoning contributing to the final score. The verbal and quant sections are scored on a point-based system, with a score of 51 in each section converted to a score of 200-800.

GMAT Exam Pattern

The GMAT exam consists of four main sections: Quantitative Reasoning, Verbal Reasoning, Integrated Reasoning, and Analytical Writing Assessment.

Quantitative Reasoning: The Quantitative Reasoning section contains 31 questions and lasts for 62 minutes. It assesses 12th-grade level mathematics, covering topics such as Arithmetic, Algebra, Geometry, and Word Problems. The score is given in points out of 51.

Verbal Reasoning: The Verbal Reasoning section contains 36 questions and lasts for 65 minutes. It evaluates general reasoning, grammar, and comprehension ability. The main topics are sentence correction, basic grammar based on formal standard writing, reading comprehension, short passages from arts, commerce, science, and literature, and critical reasoning, conclusion, and assumption-based logic. The score is calculated in points out of 51.

Integrated Reasoning: The Integrated Reasoning section contains 12 tasks and lasts for 30 minutes. The maximum score a candidate can achieve is 8 points, and the score is not added to the main GMAT score. The types of questions included are Two-Parts Analysis, Multi-Source Reasoning, Graphics Interpretation, and Table Analysis.

Analytical Writing Assessment: The Analytical Writing Assessment is an essay writing section that evaluates critical thinking and writing ability. Candidates are required to write an argument that is evaluated in the duration of 30 minutes. The maximum score is 6, and the score is not added to the main score.
